Early-Stage Concern Modeling

چکیده

Concerns are a prominent focus of attention in the early stages of the software life cycle. Particular approaches to requirements engineering and architectural design address particular concerns and relationships, often from a multidimensional perspective. Cosmos is a general-purpose, multidimensional, concern-space modeling schema that can also be used to model early-stage concerns and relationships. Cosmos is not intended to replace other modeling approaches but to supplement and extend them. Cosmos can also be used to bridge the concern gap from earlyto later stages of the development life cycle.

Transforming Disciplinary Traditions; Comment on “Problems and Promises of Health Technologies: The Role of Early Health Economic Modeling”

Grutters et al show that economic assessments can inform the development of new health technologies at an early stage. This is an important contribution to health services and policy research, which implies a “shift away” from the more traditional forms of academic health economic modeling. Because transforming established disciplinary traditions is both valuable and de...

Early Health Economic Modelling – Optimizing Development for Medical Device Developers?; Comment on “Problems and Promises of Health Technologies: The Role of Early Health Economic Modeling”

This commentary considers the positive and negative consequences of early economic modelling and explores potential future directions. Early economic modelling offers device manufacturers an opportunity to assess the potential value of an innovation at an early stage of development. Early modelling can direct resources into potentially viable technologies and reduce inv...

Aspect-enhanced goal-driven sequence diagram

Recently, aspect-oriented approaches have resulted in a tremendous impact on the processing of broadly scoped properties during the development of software systems. However, the weaving mechanism of these crosscutting concerns cannot be easily represented with the extant uniÞed modeling language (UML) notation at the early stage of software development life cycle. As an attempt toward the inves...

Concerns in a Requirements Model— A Small Case Study

Concerns are introduced into the software development process with the beginning of requirements engineering. Even simple requirements statements and use-case descriptions can give rise to substantial concern models. These models can exhibit features relating to the occurrence and distribution of concerns of different domains and types, of shared versus unique concerns, and of explicit versus i...
